Last Update vor 5 Monaten

Thank you for working with Snappy's on your Class 3 Transfers. We currently use the ATF E-Forms service to submit our paperwork electronically. This helps eliminate mistakes that may cause an invalidation or revocation of the application. It is also supposed to significantly reduce the wait time for the approval/return on the Tax stamp.

In order to process an electronic Form 4 there are a couple of things that need to be done before and a couple of things to take care of after the submission.

1) Setup a FREE E-forms Account

In order to start the process the Transferee (Buyer) will need to have setup an account with the ATF. If you do not already have one, you can setup a free account at https://eforms.atf.gov/ by clicking on the "Register" button and then following the prompts. Please make note of the USERNAME the ATF assigns you and the PIN you create during setup. We will need this during the submission process in lieu of your "signature".

2) Submit a Passport Ready Photo

If you have a digital passport photo, please reply to this email and attach a copy. Otherwise we can take one the day we file the EForm 4.

3) Payment

You will submit a $200 Tax Stamp Application Fee via pay.gov using a Credit or Debit Card during this process. Please have that ready on the day of the application process.

4) Fingerprint Card

You will need to send a copy of finger prints into the ATF within 10 Business Days. A cover sheet will be provided at the end of the process with the address and all pertinent information to send in.

The Flathead County Sheriff Office can do the fingerprinting. As of now, they do not provide electronic copies of the fingerprints, so you will need to have a copy for each application you send in.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office offers fingerprinting by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-3pm . To schedule your appointment call (406)758-5585. Their office is located on the ground floor of the Flathead County Justice Center building at 920 South Main Street, in Kalispell. Please come to the window in the main lobby. The fee is $15.00, payable by cash or local check, for two (2) fingerprint cards . Photo identification is required. http://www.flatheadcountysheriff.com/fingerprinting-and-dna/

5) Schedule a time

We will contact you to schedule a time to complete the E-Form 4.

Additional Information:

If you are interesting in setting up a Trust to use for the transfer, you can use the Silencer Shop services. They can guide you though the process and work with you to setup a trust for a nominal fee. This will need to be completed before we can process the transfer. You can contact them directly at 512-931-4556. Here is a quick like about Trusts vs Individual Ownership: https://www.silencershop.com/blog/post/a-buyer-s-guide-individual-vs-trust
